www.mikedascola.com - This is my online portfolio website. Most portfolio sites showcase what a person can do: their work and skill set. I decided to take a different turn by not only showing what I can do, but illustrating WHO I AM.
The site graphically speaks in metaphor with a simple message: I surround myself with high-tech toys, but I'm an old school guy to the core!
You can see this metaphor displayed several times from the obvious, "My Techy Timeline," showcasing my humble beginnings, to the not-so-obvious illustration of a guy playing Pong on a high def TV. I mean seriously... who does that!? Actually I do lol... I still play my 8-Bit Nintendo that is celebrating its 22nd birthday this Xmas (2010).
The leg lamp, in the basement/footer, is an homage to one of my favorite movies as a child: A Christmas Story. I wedged the leg lamp between the awards as a joke, calling it “A major award!”
I worked on this site for about two months and got great feedback during the process from my co-worker, Mark Meggison. |
