www.synsoma.com - Synsoma was founded in autumn 2005, born from the need and the union of four musicians coming from widely different horizons, but yet sharing a strong passion for rock music. The spontaneous jam sessions of the early times led to a sound which is inspired as much by the desert rock and the postpunk of the West Coast (QOTSA, Tool, Pearl Jam), as by the italian alternative scene (Aferhours, Marlene Kuntz) and by the psychedelia of the 1970s (King Crimson, Pink Floyd). The different influences merge in an original sound, simultaneously close and distinct from its inspirations. The relationship with the body and its fragility, the need to feel and to listen to ourselves nourish the lyrics as much as the effects of chance, of memories and of their impact on our present life. Hence comes the name Synsoma, from the ancient greek 'soma' (body), merged with the root 'syn-' (both fusion and exclusion). |
