| My name is Mark LaFlamme. I'm a crime reporter and columnist at the Sun Journal in Lewiston, Maine. I'm also the author of two novels and dozens of short stories that border on horror. How to incorporate those varying themes was beyond me, so I enlisted the aid of designer Mark Turcotte. Turcotte is a man of vision. He was able to weave together my many personas -- the gritty crime reporter, the zany columnist, and the bleak horror writer -- and he did it with pizzaz. Now, fans of journalism come around to browse the news and those looking for my fictional works are coming in growing numbers. Both groups are comfortable at "Above the Fold" because there is rich material for each and the visuals created by Mr. Turcotte seamlessly embody the opposing nature of my work. Frankly, it's like magic to me and I believe Mr. Turcotte deserves the highest award. |
