My wife and I called this hotel to stay during the 4th of July weekend and had to prepay for three days upfront. Fri night Sat Night and Sunday night. We arrived and checked in to a staff that both did not smile did not greet you never welcomed us in any way. We asked the questions and received the usual here I don't know or we can't or NO. We had to drive back on a terrible road to get to the best room they had: the superior. once inside smelled like mildew and was so hot that we had to purchase a fan one town over because the manger refused to give us a fan. The AC in the room is a joke and the shower trickles water out and is freezing cold because they are to cheap to buy 100 water heater for their customers and does not rinse any soap off of your body. Additionally the floors are bare concrete unsealed and there were bugs everywhere in the room. Spiders, roaches, and Mosquitos. The door
to the room is a sliding door and completely unsafe in all aspects being where you are in the mountains with Military stops one mile away due to paramilitary and guerillas. The next morning since they don't offer any type of room service I had to drive back down this terrible road to buy coffee and order breakfast for my wife who was getting ready with her best friend from college. I arrived they tried to give me three cups of coffee in small glasses to drive back up this terrible road at which time I asked do you have a thermos I can use or buy and gave one of the cooks 20000 pesos to use. I ordered breakfast and told them we would be back in 5 minutes to eat. I arrived back at room and As we were going back out this waiter is knocking on our door with the food on it exposed no covers and it was raining outside. My wife who is Colombian asked him why and what are you doing bring our food up here in the rain one not covered two and now it's cold? He said they made the decision to do so. We asked him to get in the car and all of us had to hold plates because he put to much on here. When we arrived back down there everything was cold and now wet. My wife told them we would eat what is not ruined and please make the rest new. We looked in the plate after they brought it and there were bugs and leaves in our food that was it we just did not eat this food after that. The next morning we came to front to buy coffee and the owners daughters husband approached my wife with the following story of lies. He told her that she never paid for three nights even though we had to deposit three days upfront in their bank account at banco Colombia and that they already rented the room for Monday to someone else. My wife stated this is a lie and even had the girl that took the reservation right there saying that it's for three days fri sat Sunday . Wow three days is Friday night Sat night and Sunday Night. My wife then said why are you treating me so horrible and he said that she was the worst customer they ever had and then explained why to our amazement. The waiter told him he was offended that we were upset because he carried our food up there and did not want to eat it cold and with bugs. I looked at these people and just got sick in my stomach because this is a disgusting human being who clearly has no reason being in this industry. He sat in front of other customers and started to insult my wife which I ended immediately and when confronted with a man revealed the true bully he is to woman. And then I look over and see his pregnant wife crying who speaks perfect English apologizing for his disgusting and completely unprofessional behavior and instead of apologizing to the customer paying his bills he takes the side of a waiter who became as well tongue tied when asked why he does not understand what he did. We told him to check us out and he left and his wife said she inherited this hotel from her parents and she would have given any amount of money for us not to have to deal with him. This is a very sad and typical example of the men in Colombia treating their woman as dogs and this man is the model character for this. Completely uneducated completely out of control and 100 percent a person who cares nothing about his customers and how his staff treat you is a direct reflection of what his negativity has done to them. We checked out and found a beautiful hotel down the road that was a night and day situation compared to this. We were treated like we were supposed to be a customer. I'm filing a complaint with the dept of tourism about this person and also buying an advertisement warning those never to go here. Take care
