The new web site appearance of the beach volleyball national team Brink/Dieckmann uses cinematic 3D scenes to depict the world of the two world class players Julius Brink and Christoph Dieckmann. Basing the image content on atmospheric snapshots from these two players' lives creates a unique perspective and confers a tangible feeling of beach volleyball at its best.
Through high visual-mobility within the photo-realistic environment and the intuitive and immediate field-navigation system, the user is given the feeling to be smack in the middle of the action. Real 3D-sound and live integrated 3D-content boost the impression of authenticity within the different scenes. In addition to the numerous features based on a content management system, Fan Talk is a real highlight, allowing the visitors to share the latest gossip emerging from the beach volleyball scene.
Special attention on this complex project was given to the development of a new process that would optimize the performance and quality of 3D-visualization. Complementary to this, much focus was dedicated to the improvement of the caching and compression-techniques that would help reduce download time.
